Pre-test Procotols

Ensure you are getting the most out of your test metrics. Each test has optimal conditions to ensure you are receiving the most accurate information possible.

DEXA

CLOTHING

  • Loose fitting workout-type clothes. Limit pockets, zippers, buttons or underwire

  • We have gowns

FOOD/WATER

  • No calcium supplements. This includes Tums et al

  • Fast for 2 hours prior to scan

  • Arrive hydrated

EXERCISE

  • Refrain from heavy exercise for 24 hours prior to test

VO2 MAX

CLOTHING

  • Workout clothes

  • Running shoes for treadmill test

  • Athletic shoes or cycling shoes with SPD cleats for cycling test

FOOD/WATER

  • No food or drink for 4 hours before test. Water ok.

  • No alcohol or nicotine 24 hours before test

  • Take regularly prescribed medications

EXERCISE

  • Refrain from heavy exercise for 24 hours prior to test

RMR

  • Come as you are

FOOD/WATER

  • Most accurate if fasted for 4-5 hour prior to the test, water ok
